Ombudsman Conchita Morales to investigate De Lima's alleged links to drug trade

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales finally ordered an investigation against Senator Leila De Lima in her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison.

“There have been some leads. We’re giving it due course by conducting fact­finding,” Morales stated

Albuera cops chief Jovie Espenido filed a complaint versus De Lima before the Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas.

Espinedo said De Lima was receiving payola from Kerwin Espinosa.

Earlier, Morales said that there was still no reason for her to investigate De Lima.

“It’s not going to happen,” Morales said

“Because lahat naman allegations itong mga ito. Wala pa namang lead talaga that would prompt us to initiate our investigation,” Morales added.
