The one most embarrassed or hurt by revelations on the love event of Sen. Leila de Lima as well as her previous driver Ronnie Dayan was the latter's better half Neneng.

Vice President Leni Robredo as well as lots of women senator  have actually slammed lawmakers for entering into the information of the relationship during the house probe, when it was plainly a private issue and also had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the alleged involvement of De Lima in the illegal drug trade.

Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III reacted to some legislators last Thursday, where congressmen attracted out salacious details of the 7 year affair.

“I am quizzical about why some women legislators are so concerned about the privacy of Sen. De Lima and yet I have not heard them to be concerned about the wife of Dayan,” Sotto said. “I think she is more of the victim.”

Robredo called what took place in the House hearing as “slut shaming” and a form of harassment.

Sen. Grace Poe said a lot of the questions were geared towards voyeurism and that certain personal affairs should not have been discussed.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros called it a “public lynching in aid of misogyny and sexism.”

Sotto stated regardless of what was discussed during the hearing, the affair in itself was definitely devastating to the wife of Dayan.

“I think she is the most badly hurt, not only by the issues raised in Congress, but by the impact of the controversy on her children and family,” he stated.

Sotto is chairman of the Senate committee on ethics, which is tackling 2 issues filed against De Lima.

Some members of the congress are also contemplating filing a case versus De Lima, either prior to the Senate or the Supreme Court, for informing Dayan to neglect the house summons.

Meanwhile, Bagong Henerasyon partylist Rep. Bernadette Herrera Dy appealed yesterday to her colleagues in Congress to think about women's sensations as well as stay with the real issue when doubting witnesses throughout hearings.

“All congressmen have the right to ask what they want to ask during the hearing – it is our right and privilege,” Dy said in Filipino. “But my wish and appeal is that next time, they also take into consideration what we women feel.”
