On Saturday, September 16, 2017, 11,874 kilograms or 11.87 tonnes of frozen dressed chicken arrived at Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental from Davao City.
This news was brought to us by Manny Pinol through his Facebook post. You won't find this in the mainstream media.
These frozen chicken are donated by Jonathan Suy of Ana's Breeder Farm, Inc. the company owner of Farmers Fresh Chicken Brand. These are delivered for the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' daily consumption in Marawi City.
As of yesterday, 2.4 tonnes of the same broiler dressed chicken is being delivered directly to Marawi City from Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. This is facilitated and coordinated by DA-RFO 10 under Director Carlene Collado.
As requested by the Marawi troops, 5 more deliveries containing 2-3 tonnes will follow.
There will be a continuous supply of the chicken until the soldiers and policemen complete their assignment in Marawi City.
Here are some photos from Ana's Breeder Farm and DA Region X:
This is a part of the strategy to provide additional market for broiler chickens when it suffered a drop in demand because of the recent Bird Flu outbreak in Pampanga.
These chickens are safe from Bird Flu because all the affected chickens during the outbreak was killed and disposed of.
The original plan was to donate these to the Marawi evacuees, but the Maranao leaders saw it as an insult to be given something with Bird Flu. So, the Marawi troops gladly accepted the blessing.
