MJ Reyes Burns Kiko Pangilinan For Criticizing President Duterte's Order To Suspend Deputy Ombudsman

Recently, the Office of the President (OP) released a 90 days suspension order against Overall Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Arthur Carandang for making public documents related to the President's bank account.

And this action coming from the President has raised questions whether the President has the power to suspend the Deputy Ombudsman.

This issue has been going around for days now. Several people including politicians and civilians have expressed their thought about it.

And just recently, Senator Kiko Pangilinan expressed his support to Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Carandang on his Twitter account saying that the Ombudsman is upholding the rule of law.

Which was immediately slammed by a netizen named, Mj Reyes. She then reminded the Senator how he supported the former President Noy Aquino when he 'fires' the then Deputy Ombudsman Emilio Gonzalez III back in April 2011.

In a facebook post, Mj Reyes also cited the difference of Sen. Pangilinan's statement before and now,

BEFORE: "Kiko says to Ombudsman, "Respect President Aquino's firing of the Deputy Ombudsman."

Remember your words then, Senator Francis Pangilinan?

"... the executive department should enforce the order even if it meant “physically” removing Deputy Ombudsman Emilio Gonzalez III from his office.

... absent any legal order preventing its enforcement, if he has to be bodily carried out by our law enforcement authorities, so be it. Unless they have forgotten, we are now under a new administration,”

"We need to exorcise the nation from the ghosts of the past regime wherein the Constitution and the rule of law were upheld only when it served the purpose of the incumbent. Enough is enough."

NOW: "Kiko says, "The President cannot suspend the Ombudsman or his/her deputies."

So, Mr. Pangilinan, pwede pa lang mag-"fire" noon pero hindi na pwede mag-"suspend" ngayon? 

She then ended her post with, "Sorry, people are no longer as dumb as the politicians wish or want the people to be."
