Mocha Slams Hontiveros Over "Ilan Ba Talaga Ang Drug Users Sa PH?" Inquiry: Common Sense Nalang Po

Last November 16, 2017, Senator Risa Hontiveros was quoted about the "guesstimates" of the number of people using drugs in the country.

"Ilan ba talaga ang drug users sa Pilipinas? Inamin ninyo na ang 3-4 million na numero ng drug users ay isang 'guesstimate' lang."

"However, we need to be precise about these figures because they have budgetary implications, not only for your agency (DDB) and the PDEA but also for the Department of Health. We cannot plan the country's national budget based on a 'guesstimate'."

But for Assistant Secretary of the PCOO and blogger Mocha Uson, the issues raised by Hontiveros is not even important.

First, because we already know that millions of people in our country are drug users based on the mayors and drug lords, even foreigners that were caught.

Una sa lahat madam Risa hindi pa po ba obvious ang problema sa droga sa ating bansa? Ilang mayor at ilang drug lords na po ang nahuli dito? Ilang PNP Officers na ba ang sumabit sa kaso laban sa droga? Ilang foreigners na ang nahuli nag iimport ng droga sa Pilipinas? Ano po ba yun milyong milyong droga nahuli ng kapulisan natin? Sisinghutin lang ba yun ng isang tao?

According to Uson, we only need common sense to know how many people are using drugs in the Philippines. It is also common sense that will tell us how infested our country is of drugs. Where else would you see a country whose drugs are being cooked inside it jails.

Common sense nalang po na talamak na ang droga sa atin. Saang bansa ka nakakita na ang droga niluluto mismo sa bilangguan?

Uson called out to Hontiveros that this is a simple thing and should not be used to gain attention. Even other countries already declared their war on drugs. Uson called out to the senators to go out once in a while so that they can see the Philippines as it is.

Mam naman simpleng bagay lang po yan wag naman natin gamitin para pumapel lamang po sa taumbayan. Maging ibang bansa nag declare na ng gyera laban sa droga. Ang hirap po kasi sa ilang Senador natin masyado nagpapakasasa sa kubul nila sa Senado. Labas labas din po pag may panahon at makipagusap sa mga tao para malaman ninyo ang problema sa droga. Mam naman, pls lang wag po kami.
