A Female Anti-Duterte Is In Danger Of Being Jailed For Wearing A Filipiniana Philippine Flag During Protest

A female anti-Duterte protester who thought it as wise to lead a rally last September 21, 2017 wearing a Filipiniana that is made with the Philippine flag, is now facing the possibility of getting jailed because of it.

The Facebook page "Digong" lectured and alerted its followers regarding the law that the woman violated.

"You can petition the govt for its abuses and lapses but that does not mean you can blatantly violate our law especially RA 8491 also known as the AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE CODE OF THE NATIONAL FLAG, ANTHEM, MOTTO, COAT-OF-ARMS AND OTHER HERALDIC ITEMS AND DEVICES OF THE PHILIPPINES.
Section 34 (prohibited acts) paragraph E. "To wear the flag in whole or in part as a costume or in uniform." 

President Duterte has  made it clear when he announced the National day of Protest that everyone is free to protest but nobody should act above the law. These people were already given a chance to protest, why do they still need to offend the country?

Let's take a look at what is awaiting the guilty party.

Section 50. Any person or juridical entity which violates any of the provisions of this Act shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than Five thousand pesos (P5000) nor more than Twenty thousand pesos (P20,000), or by imprisonment for not more that one (1) year, or both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court: Provided, that for any second and additional offenses, both fine and imprisonment shall always be imposed: Provided, further, that incase the violation is commited by a juridicial person, its President or Chief thereof shall be liable.
