POEA High Officials Fired For Meddling With Illegal Recruitment And Other Anomaly

Gone were the days when our government agencies are not doing anything to fight against illegals. Recently, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) started to fire officials of the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) who are allegedly working with illegal recruiters.

If in the former administration, these criminals were consented and hidden by the higher officials, they will not be able to do that anymore now that we have a president that truly cares in making the Philippines a better country.

Firing of high officials already started. DOLE Undersecretary Bernard Olalia confirmed that there have been high officials of POEA that have already been fired.

Although he declined to say which ones and how many, he confirmed that there were firings already.

“May mga inalis na, holding key positions, head of departments in POEA,”

According to him, DOLE's target is to finish the probing by January 2018.

It is the aim of the investigation to be able to file administrative and criminal charges to those who will be proven guilty.

Apart from all the employees and officials of POEA. Olalia also said that all the recruitment agencies are also being investigated to find out who among them are recruiting illegally.

“We expect to conclude the investigation early part of next year, January 2018. The purpose of the investigation is for the filing of the administrative and criminal charges,”

DOLE already reported earlier that they will be conducting an investigation and shuffling of officials within POEA in order to address the reports that there are officials and employees of the agency that are part of illegal recruitment and other charges.
