Conflict Due To Properties Results To A Massacre Including A 6-Year Old Girl

Due to a misunderstanding which resulted to a conflict brought about by land properties, a 27-year old suspect is now in custody for killing 3 people and injuring 2 more around 11 o'clock in the morning yesterday at Sitio Cambuhay, Barangay Cabacungan Banwa La Castellana.

Luis Solis, 39, along with his son and daughter Marcelino, 11 year-old, and Lady Eloisa, 6 year-old were announced dead on arrival when they were brought to the hospital after the incident. While Luis' common law wife Jennifer Carayo and another son Lourence Andrew, 13 year-old, were injured. They were supposedly stabbed to death by his very own cousin, and the possible reason behind the killings is a misunderstanding on their land properties.

The suspect was positively ID'd as 27 year-old Richard Solis who was a resident of the same barangay and was in fact the cousin of the victim, Luis Solis.

Clarita Paquero, the mother of the suspect said that her son and the victim crossed path in the street when Richard suddenly attacked Luis.

Luis tried to run home but Richard caught up with him at home and stabbed him to death. Still not contented with what he did, he even stabbed all the family members that were there, included a 6 year-old girl.

In an explanation regarding this, La Castellana PNP Chief, Police C/Insp. Irma Teoxon said that a conflict regarding land properties is what they are looking at as possible motive for the crime.

As of this writing, the injured victims are still being treated at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
