WATCH: President Duterte To Declare A National Holiday For All Groups Who Want To Rally Against Him

Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said this morning that he will be ordering a nationwide holiday. This is in favor of the groups that are against him, this is a chance for them to let him know why they are opposing him and his administration.

"At this early I am announcing that I am ordering a holiday. Para walang masaktan, walang ano kung may demonstration dyan, o magkagulo. Walang trabaho ang gobyerno ng araw na yan. At ang klase suspended."

Along with this statement, the President also assured the opposing groups that all the public places that they want to occupy can be used. There will be no policemen to stop the rally, the only officers to be assigned are those who will man the traffic.

"Lahat ng public places dito na gusto ninyong ioccupy, kunin ninyo."

For those who will not participate, the president will assign a small number of police to make sure they won't be disturbed.

"Walang police na magpapatrolya laban sa inyo. Ang sinasabi ko lang, I will assign a lean - kokonting police lang to maintain traffic. Para hindi naman maabala yung hindi kasali."

This, according to the president, is the government's way of saying that they are sincere in listening to what the nation is saying, may it be praise or criticism.

The president also warned everyone to not vandalize or burn anything that is not to be burned. He said the groups can make a thousand of effigies to burn and it's ok with him, the groups just have to make sure that they don't put themselves on top of the law.

Duterte also said that it is his job to solve problems, he will not be affected since he will not be running for another term and there is no need for him to make himself popular.

"Yan ang trabaho ng presidente, tiga-solve ng problem. It will not affect me because I am not up for any other election, tapos na ako. I do not have to make myself popular. Pero do not take the law into your own hands."

Lastly, the president warned the NPA to not join the said holiday or else they will be facing the military.

"Wag kayong magpapasok ng, sabihin ninyo, red army niyo na may armas. Wag kayong magkamali na magsira dyan, sira dito. Because if you do it, the next thing, ang kaharap ninyo, would be the military and the police."

The final date of the said holiday was not yet mentioned by the president, but according to him, they will talk about it and announce it to the public soon.
