Despite Trillanes’ Leading Questions, Mark Taguba Insists Pulong Duterte’s Alleged Involvement with Davao Group is Only Hearsay

Anti-Duterte Senator Antonio
Trillanes IV has already embarrassed himself in front of an international
audience but he still shows no signs of relenting as he brazenly plods on
through this travesty of an issue where he insists that Presidential son and Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo “Pulong” Duterte
is involved in the smuggling of drugs in the country.
In the most recently aired public hearing, Trillianes
repeatedly asked whistleblower Mark
Taguba an insane number of times –– regarding Pulong’s involvement with the
so-called Davao group responsible for collecting tara in the BOC operations. However, Taguba, who recently pointed
out five Bureau of Customs (BOC) executives of accepting bribes, was adamant in
clarifying that Vice Mayor Duterte’s having been connected to the group was
merely hearsay.
According to Taguba, a certain alias ”Small” claimed that they were thick with the
Vice Mayor and he (Taguba) assumed that Paolo Duterte was the vice
mayor in question. He didn’t bother to
verify it, he said, because it was more important to him to process the
shipment that he was tasked to broker.
Sen. Richard Gordon
then asserted that Taguba should be clear as to what was only hearsay and what he knew to be fact.
Sen. Manny Pacquiao
also reprimanded Taguba, telling him not to mention names of people or groups
especially if it was only from hearsay and if
he did not have any actual personal knowledge.
Trillanes, armed with photos maliciously implying a close
connection between Vice Mayor Duterte and the businessman, next asked Kenneth Dong whether he was friends
with Pulong, to which Dong replied that he and the Vice Mayor were merely acquaintances.
Visibly undeterred, Trillianes later on grilled BOC Deputy Commissioner Gerardo Gambala
whether he has heard any stories about the president’s son sinking his hands
into BOC transactions.
Gambala answered that he has heard nothing of the sort.
Seriously, what REALLY is the point that this international
shame of a senator is trying to make?
