Forgotten Case of Ex-MCTC Judge Caught in Drug Buy-Bust Operation resurfaces after Ozamiz Raid Incident

The deaths of the Parojinogs yesterday in the bloody, narcotics-related raid in Ozamis City yesterday created such a ruckus all across the country that it seemed to have also shaken a few buried bones lose in the city, specifically the capture and arrest of former MCTC Judge Priscilla Hernandez and some of her family members in a buy-bust operation last March at Brgy. Maningcol in Ozamis City.

The abovementioned drug buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of Hernandez, her husband and 4 others was spearheaded by PCInsp Jovie Espenido, the same person in charge of the Parojinog raid.

Aside from ex-judge Priscilla Hernandez and her husband Jesus, the other persons involved in the incident were namely Jonathan Manalo, Nemeniso Alburo, and Karly Hernandez. Drugs with an approximate Php1 million street value were seized in their possession.

A video of the events surrounding the capture and arrest showed pieces of evidence, such as a black purse containing about 100 grams of crystal meth or shabu, being held and inventoried by the operatives.

Ex-judge Hernandez vehemently denied owning any of the narcotics seized from their home, which is also the alleged drug den in the area.

As the video of the arrest resurfaced, sentiments of netizens were also aroused, most being angry and at the same time celebrating the fact that the perpetrators had been caught.

Most were quick to notice the ex-judge’s emaciated form, associating it with drug use. Others sadly noted how Hernandez had exchanged her dignity as judge in exchange for money.

In any case, there is no word as to where Hernandez and her allies are right now, nor regarding what happened to their case. Hopefully, now that this issue has once again come out into the open, we can have additional news about this case. We need to know whether justice has indeed been served, or if some other corrupt, drug-protecting judge has had his grimy hands on the case, rendering it useless.
