"Tell Rodrigo I like him very much. He's a good guy. I had a great time" - US President Trump

During the time when the United States president was still Barrack Obama, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte won the presidency.

In a series of speeches and misinterpretation, it came to a point where Duterte severed ties with the United States. He vowed never to set foot in the said country again.

When current United States President Donald Trump was seated last November 2016, many people wondered how it will be if the two presidents from the US and PH meets. Many predicted that it will wreak havoc and have conflict. Mainly because of the strong characteristic of the two.

However, when Trump visited the Philippines for the 31st ASEAN summit where Duterte was the chairman and the Philippines is the host. There was nothing negative that went on when the two unique president met.

At the end of Trump's 2-day visit in the Philippines, where he stayed in Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila in Pasay City and was choppered off to NAIA, at his send-off party, he made sure Duterte knew how much he enjoyed the trip.

"Tell Rodrigo I like him very much. He's a good guy. I had a great time here."

US Ambassador Jose Romualdez said that he thinks that Trump's trip to the Philippines is succesful and that it put back the US-PH relations back on track.

"I think it's a very successful trip and the Philippines and the US relations are back on track."

 As proof that he really liked what he experienced here, Trump did not go straight to NAIA when he was scheduled to fly off on the Air Force One. He actually passed by the PICC where the East Asia Summit (EAS) was being held, it was chaired and hosted by Duterte.

Unfortunately, Trump wasn't able to stay for the photo op because he had to leave for his flight.
