Netizens on Risa Hontiveros' visit to Kian's wake: Nasaan ka nung Bulacan Massacre?

Akbayan party-list Senator Risa Hontiveros visited the wake of Kian Llyod delos Santos on Saturday, promising to provide full protection and security aid to the family in their pursuit of justice as well as to the witnesses.

The 17-year-old senior high school student was shot dead during the anti-narcotics operation conducted by the Caloocan cops on Wednesday night.

In a facebook post, Hontiveros extended her condolences to the family of the slain 17 year-old boy and vowed to join them in its fight for justice.

After meeting with Kian's parents, the lady senator urged the government to conduct an "independent" and "impartial" investigation into the death of Kian including all cases of murder involving the police.

She also called for an end to the deadly war against illegal drugs.

#JusticeForKian Nakikiramay ako sa mga mahal sa buhay ni Kian, kay Bong at Elsa. Ang buong bansa galit, nagluluksa.

Paano tayo humantong sa ganito?

Siguro itanong natin sa mga sarili natin, ganito ba tayo bilang mga Pilipino? Hayok sa dugo na ok lang sating may mga mabiktimang disisyete anyos na katulad ni Kian? Hayok sa dugo na ok lang mabiktima ang isang batang masayahin, malambing, mapagbiro at mahal na mahal ng mga kabarangay, ng mga kaibigan, mga kaklase at pamilya niya?

Sobra na ito. Tama na. Nakakabahala na ang mga mahihirap at walang kalaban-laban ang mga nabibiktima ng war-on-drugs na ito.

Kakatapos lang ng pulong namin nila Bong at Elsa. Nananawagan ako ng isang totoong independent at impartial na investigation sa kasong ito at lahat ng kaso ng pagpatay na involved ang mga kapulisan.

I am here to accord full protection and security to the family and to the witnesses, to provide whatever legal service is needed. We will unearth the truth. We will fight for justice for Kian, and for those whose lives were abruptly ended by this abusive and corrupt war-on-drugs. This ends here.

But some netizens criticized Hontiveros, asking why the lady senator have some time to visit the wake of Kian, yet she didn’t even visited the wake of Bulacan Massacre victims before.

Another netizen lambasted Hontiveros for not showing any sympathy to the rape victims and to the government soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Marawi City.
