PDEA Slammed By Netizens For "Unethical" Disclosure of Drug Suspect's HIV Status

Recently, the Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) caught 11 drug suspects in a sex party in a hotel in Bonifacio Global City.

Two of the 11 suspects are Edmond Remegio and Pedrito Coronel Jr. who, according to PDEA were the main suspects and are the alleged suppliers of drugs. The other 9 are users.

Also, according to the authorities, 10 of the arrested suspects tested positive with drugs and the other one tested positive with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

However, instead of receiving praise, the PDEA was questioned by netizens with the way they handled their suspects. According to these people who are question PDEA these suspects, no matter what they did, still has human rights, which the authorities violated.

Some are saying that if the test were forced, then that would have been harassment. Some are saying that it is unethical for the PDEA to release the fact about HIV.




On the other hand, some netizens also expressed their disgust in the double standard reasoning of those who got mad and worried.



Moreover, OrgyPH released their statement about the matter. They said that they were saddened with what happened  but the people can rest assured that they are not going to tolerate the use of drugs during their events.
