Trillanes' Tactics In Personally Going To Singapore Raises Doubts

In the morning of September 19, 2017, photos of Senator Antonio Trillanes made rounds in social media. The senator reportedly arrived in Singapore to personally debunk the claim of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte that he has several off-shore bank accounts.

About 9-10 am, known Netizen and Duterte follower posted on her Facebook, that according to one of her friends, Trillanes is in DBS bank in Alexandra Singapore already.

With that post she raised some doubts.

1. Why is Trillanes there? Is he covering his tracks? Or Maybe he withdrew the money and closed the account, after that, he will ask for a certification that he has no account there?
2. Is he moving money around so Duterte can't trace it?
3. Why is he there personally? If you don't have money in any bank, do you personally go there just to ask for a certification that you have no account there?

A certain Facebook user who goes by the name Mestiza de Chinita, whose profile states that she is from Singapore, posted photos of Trillanes inside the bank, talking to a teller.

Minutes after Chu's post, ABS-CBN and News5 tweeted that a "teller" confirmed that Trillanes has no bank account there.

Meanwhile, to complete the dilawan media lineup, here's GMA's take. They posted an article  saying that Trillanes has no account in the said bank.

BUT..

According to GMA, the bank manager talked to Trillanes for a good 10 minutes before saying that they can't issue a certification because he is not a client.

The branch manager then talked to Trillanes for about 10 minutes.The senator asked for a certification from the bank but he was told that they cannot issue such document because he is not a client.

What do you talk about for 10 minutes? Isn't it just easy to say "No, we can't issue a certification because you are not a client."?

On the other hand, a commenter posted another photo of the Senator saying that at 11:15am, he was still there. 

So, if GMA was to be believed that the senator did arrive there at shortly after 9am, what did he do there for more than two hours? Was the 10 minute talk with the manager the final touch of his scheme to cover his tracks?

This 10-minute info brings about Chu's doubts that maybe he already withdrew the money and closed the account. A lot can happen in 10 minutes. You can withdraw all your money and close your account, so that you'll be able to ask for a certification that you don't have an account there.

We are in an advance stage of technology already, you can't possible think that it took 10 minutes to manually sift through papers and look for Trillanes' name? Of course we have computers and just one click can tell you whether he is in the database or not. So what happened in that 10 minutes?

So, I guess, that answers Chu's question on why Trillanes was personally there. He has to be there personally to be able to withdraw and close his account. 

When it is closed, he can ask for a certification that he was not a client. 

Brilliant Trillanes. Brilliant. Too bad we saw right through you.
