PADEM traced to Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) According to the AFP

Recently an open letter had been
posted on the blog Pinoy Abrod claiming to have been penned by a combined force
of PNP and AFP ranked officials calling for President Duterte to be ousted from
the presidential chair and be held “accountable for gross crimes in betrayal of
public trust and in violation of national sovereignty and democratic rights of
the Filipino people.”
Then they proceeded to urge Filipinos
to unite and condemn Duterte, followed by a pledge to support the new
administration based on the 1987 Constitution and the rule of law should
Duterte be deposed.
The suspicion appeared to be
well-founded as a military cyber-security expert yesterday said that the open
letter had been traced to a certain Jon Bustamante from the Netherlands,
someone who has close ties to Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder
and chairman Jose Ma. Sison who is also conveniently staying in the same
country.
Said the cyber-security expert
who requested for his identity to be kept anonymous since he is not allowed to
talk to the media, Bustamante was the
one who uploaded the statement against Duterte from the so-called PADEM or Patriotic
and Democratic Movement on wedcadre@yahoo.com,
an Utrecht-based social domain.
The military was able to
establish that this Jon Bustamante has close ties with Sison, who admitted to
share the sentiments of PADEM’s statement.
According to authorities, the
purpose of the statement was to create a huge gap between the AFP and PNP,
after which the CPP planned to ride the waves of peace and order concerns
currently flooding the country.
AFP Spokesperson Brig. Gen.
Restituto Padilla very firmly declared on Tuesday that the AFT denies any
connection with PADEM or their ouster.
The PNP also released a statement
denouncing PADEM and promising to fight any attempts to bring down the Duterte
administration.
CPP founding chairman Joma Sison’s
reaction was faster than lightning as he immediately responded by slamming the
AFP for what he called the singling out of an OFW worker, referring to
Bustamante, as the singular source of a plan to destabilize the Duterte administration.
