Ozamiz City Mayor Parojinog, his wife and others killed in police raid

Local reports said that Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo "Aldong" O. Parojinog was reportedly killed during raid operation conducted by the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group raid in the wee hours of July 30, Sunday, in San Roque Lawis.
His wife Susan Parojinog, board member Octavio Parojinog Jr., Lydia and a certain JR of Lumad TV were among the eleven casualties identified according to SOCO report.
Photos of the late Mayor Parojinog clearly showed that he died from a fatal gunshot wounds. As of now, there was no official statement yet from authorities on whether he resist arrest that cause his death.
Parojinog's daughter, Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Echavez was arrested and was being investigated by the Misamis Occidental police office.
Reports also said that heavy firearms, bundle of cash and suspected illegal drugs were seized in a simultaneous raids by the authorities from the houses owned by Parojinog and that of his family members.
More areas, like The Farm of the Mayor's Family in Barangay Cogon, will also be raided today, July 30, 2017.
It can be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte has tagged Mayor Parojinog and his daughter as among the narco-politicians operating in Mindanao.
Duterte said Mayor Parojinog is the father-in-law of Herbert Colanggo, one of the high-profile inmates at the New Bilibid Prison.
But Parojinog has already denied the allegation, but acknowledged that his daughter, who had her marriage already annulled, has a relationship with Colanggo.
